Relationship builder, ADHD translator, and guide through the messy middle

Alex Robertson (he/him) is a Boulder-based Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate offering warm, trauma-informed therapy for teens, adults, and couples. He provides couples therapy in Boulder alongside individual counseling, supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, identity exploration, and major life transitions.

Alex’s approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. He helps clients explore their inner world with compassion, working with the parts that feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain while building clarity, emotional regulation, and resilience. His style is engaging and real, balancing direct, honest communication with a steady, supportive presence.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University and has specialized training in EMDR and ADHD-informed therapy. His integrative work draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and somatic practices, supporting whole-person healing across mind and body.

Alex is especially passionate about working with teens, young adults, and individuals navigating life transitions, as well as couples seeking stronger communication, deeper connection, and more resilient foundations. His couples therapy approach focuses on improving communication, understanding relational patterns, and helping partners reconnect in meaningful ways.

In addition to traditional in-office sessions, Alex offers nature-based therapy in Boulder, incorporating the outdoors to support grounding, perspective, and connection.

Alex offers therapy in person in Boulder and online throughout Colorado.
