Amy Porter
MSW, LCSW, EMDR
Listener & Believer, Bubble Blower, Self-Compassion Superhero in Training
Amy (she/her) supports adult individuals seeking deep healing and insight through EMDR therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These powerful, body-based modalities use the wisdom of the body and spirit—rather than traditional talk therapy—to access and heal the root of emotional pain. With IFS (also known as Parts Work) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), clients are guided inward to connect directly with the sources of internal conflict, bypassing the need for over-analysis or storytelling.
Amy has found meaningful success with clients ages 19 to 55, across all genders, working exclusively with these two modalities in her adult therapy practice. Her style is intuitive, nonjudgmental, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when we create space to listen inward.
Since 2012, Amy has also supported children, teens, and families in home, school, and clinical settings, addressing parenting challenges and emotional-behavioral concerns. Her experience includes working with first-time parents, children with developmental differences, grandparents raising grandchildren, and teen parents. In her work with families, Amy incorporates play therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to meet each client with creativity and care.
Amy is deeply engaged in her local community in the North Fork Valley of Paonia, Colorado. She has volunteered with the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Center, led youth prevention education, served as a National Forest ranger, and participated in Search & Rescue. Since 2017, she has committed herself to ongoing racial justice education and serves on the board of Delta County Cares, advocating for social and racial equity in her region.
Amy offers trauma-informed therapy in Paonia, CO, and online therapy throughout Colorado.
