Jiayi Zhao

BA, Clinical Intern Therapist

Expedition leader, cross-cultural explorer, and builder of inner resilience

Jiayi Zhao (she/her) is a graduate-level intern therapist in Boulder, CO, offering compassionate, mindfulness-based therapy for adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, identity exploration, and personal growth. She believes that healing begins by slowing down, paying attention to the present moment, and developing the inner resources needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.

Jiayi views therapy as a collaborative journey of exploration and discovery. She creates a warm, supportive space where clients can deepen their connection to themselves, strengthen healthy boundaries, and uncover the inner wisdom that often gets lost beneath the pressures of daily life. Her approach helps clients build emotional resilience, cultivate self-compassion, and develop new ways of relating to themselves and the world around them.

Her work is informed by mindfulness, contemplative practices, and a holistic understanding of well-being. Through her personal practices of yoga, meditation, and classical guitar, Jiayi has experienced the power of presence, repetition, and creative expression in fostering healing and growth. These values shape the grounded and attentive presence she brings to the therapy room.

Jiayi believes that every person possesses an innate capacity for healing and transformation. Whether clients are facing uncertainty, navigating change, or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, she walks alongside them with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their unique journey.

Jiayi offers therapy in person in Boulder and online throughout Colorado under the supervision of licensed clinicians at Thrive Psychotherapy.
