Finding Calm: A New 8-Week Anxiety & Resilience Group at Thrive

Anxiety has become one of the most common reasons people seek therapy today.

Whether it shows up as racing thoughts, constant worry, muscle tension, difficulty sleeping, overwhelm, or simply feeling like you’re always “on,” anxiety can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and from others.

The good news is that anxiety is treatable, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

This fall, Thrive Psychotherapeutic Services is offering Finding Calm, an eight-week therapeutic group designed to help participants better understand anxiety while building practical tools for resilience, emotional regulation, and connection.

Why Group Therapy for Anxiety?

One of anxiety’s greatest tricks is convincing us we’re alone.

Group therapy offers something individual therapy cannot: the opportunity to discover that others share similar struggles, fears, and hopes.

Within a supportive community, participants often find relief simply by realizing they don’t have to carry everything by themselves.

Research consistently shows that group therapy can reduce feelings of isolation while increasing confidence, emotional awareness, and long-term coping skills.

What We’ll Explore

Over eight weeks, participants will learn evidence-based tools for managing anxiety while developing greater trust in themselves and others.

Topics include:

Understanding Anxiety

Learn what anxiety is, how it affects the nervous system, and why your body responds the way it does.

Mindfulness & Meditation

Practice slowing down and becoming more present through guided mindfulness and meditation exercises.

Somatic Experiencing®

Explore body-based approaches that help regulate the nervous system and increase resilience during times of stress.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Develop practical strategies for identifying anxious thinking patterns and creating healthier responses.

Community & Connection

Experience the healing power of sharing your journey with others in a compassionate and confidential environment.
