Amy Briggs

Practicum Intern Therapist | Somatic, person-centered support for life transitions, relationships & midlife healing

Amy Briggs (she/her) is a graduate-level intern therapist currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Counseling at Adams State University. She offers somatic, person-centered therapy for adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges and identity shifts. Amy is especially passionate about helping women traverse the emotional landscape of midlife, menopause, and perimenopause. She also provides support for partners of loved ones in addiction recovery and those exploring new directions in life.

Amy’s approach is grounded, intuitive, and deeply relational. She creates a warm, attuned space where clients feel supported in exploring who they are and where they want to go. She believes that change feeds the soul—and that healing begins when we meet ourselves with compassion, curiosity, and courage.

Before entering the field of psychotherapy, Amy had a long career as a concert pianist, university music instructor, and integrative somatic coach. Her background in music and coaching informs her ability to listen deeply, connect through presence, and help clients attune to the rhythms of their own inner experience.

She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in music, multiple coaching certifications, and is currently pursuing certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner through Somatic Experiencing™ International.

Amy offers therapy in person in Boulder and online throughout Colorado under the supervision of licensed clinicians at Thrive Psychotherapy.
